Licensed 2 Drive

OEC recognises that a driver’s licence is a barrier to many people in gaining employment. We also appreciate that gaining access to a vehicle, being able to afford petrol and logging enough hours to apply for a Provisional Licence are significant issues for many young people or those trying to enter the workforce.

The OEC Licensed 2 Drive program provides practical driving lessons for people who do not have access to a car or a licensed driver to complete the log book hours required. It includes 10 hours of driving lessons, followed by a trained driving mentor in a car to gain enough driving hours.

The 2011 Licensed to Drive recipients were Nyoka Boney, Leighlan Brown and Tamara Thompson from Dubbo’s Senior Campus.
