Indigenous Employment Program

OEC has three Indigenous Employment Program (IEP) contacts to provide pre-employment training and mentoring for Indigenous Australian Job Seekers.  The Beacon program will provide training and mentoring in the following areas and locations:

  • Building and construction

20 participants in the Orana, Oxley, Far West and Gwydir regions

  • Early childhood

15 participants at Brewarrina, Lightning Ridge and Moree

  • Employment Aspirations

60 participants (including 16 mentoring positions) at Wilcannia, Walgett, Bourke and Brewarrina.

 

Our Partners:

Aboriginal Employment Strategy (AES)
AES will be supporting the contracts by managing the mentoring components. This will involve six face-to-face mentoring sessions, as well as 12 other contacts over a six-month period for each participant.

Western College Dubbo
Western College will oversee the training.

OEC’s Role

Our role is to establish the contracts with these partner organisations and to create and fill the role of Project Supervisor
